In Unit 7, students learn about irregular verbs in the past tense (-car, -gar, -zar, i → y) including ser, ir, estar, dar, decir, hacer, tener, venir. They understand how to make adverbs ending in –mente. They use a variety of place prepositions. They practice regular and irregular negative commands for tú
using direct and indirect pronouns. They learn about the conditional tense and its uses in present and past tenses. They review regular and irregular comparative, superlative, and demonstrative adjectives. They practice the use of a variety of adverbs of frequency and prepositions of movement. They get introduced to the verb haber as hay and as an auxiliary verb. They read and write short paragraphs and conversations that involve a wide vocabulary.
